hi, does someone (you know who) know, if "The Ray Tracer Challenge" book was typeset in LaTeX ? had a small 1.0$ bet with a friend that i would win if it wasn't, ... -- best regards anupam

It was actually typeset in a proprietary markup format maintained internally by Pragmatic Bookshelf. As it is proprietary, I don't know how much I can say, but I'll say it wasn't much like LaTeX. It was actually very pleasant to use! (Which is not to say that LaTeX isn't, but anyone who's tried to do a complex project in LaTeX will probably understand when I say that LaTeX and I have a long-standing love-hate relationship...)
