Hello, new member here, and now finishing up the Groups chapter. In the text it says to define a single instance of the sphere and the cylinder, transform them into place, then add to a group. Then create duplicates of the group.
How were you thinking this duplication should work? Make a new group and add the contents of the existing group? (Group g1 = new Group(g0); )? Something else? Thank you for the help! Manxome
Update: Ok, I now realize you cannot add the contents of the existing group because that would change the parent of the sphere and the cylinder. It seems you would need a sphere and a cylinder for each group, so I must be misunderstanding the "single instance" reference.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update2: Doh! Somehow I missed the completely detailed explanation on the next two pages because I was solving the previous "Putting it Together" sections without looking at the hints. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great & fun book, thank you!
